Crossing Guard

The City of Bangor is accepting applications for the position of crossing guard. Crossing guards operate under the direction of the Bangor Police Department. Crossing guards are utilized Monday through Friday during the school season for approximately two (2) hours per day. One (1) hour in the morning and one (1) hour in the afternoon. Crossing guards direct students and pedestrians across streets to ensure safe passage to and from school. Crossing Guards are exposed to differing weather conditions.

The minimum requirements for employment are:

• Ability to stand for periods of time.
• Must communicate effectively.
• Watch and listen for traffic.
• Direct and stop traffic at designated crossing area.

Benefits & Wages: 

• Starting crossing guard pay $13.00 per hour.
• Equipment provided.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday (School Schedule)
• No Weekends
